Tradyon: Designing clarity in relationship-driven trading

In trading, deals don’t come from data.

They come from the right conversations at the right time.

Role: UX, UI Design (App)

Scope: End-to-end app design (flows, UI, edge cases)

Timeline: 1.5 months

Tools: Figma

🎯 The Mismatch

Commodity trading isn’t just about numbers.

It’s about conversations, relationships & context over time.

But traders today juggle everything across Whatsapp, Calls, Spreadsheets & Notes.

Which leads to:

  1. Lost context

  2. Missed follow-ups

  3. Slower decisions

Traders don’t forget people they forget why those people mattered.

The problem isn’t lack of data.

It’s the loss of context across conversations.

🧠 The Approach

Instead of designing another “trading dashboard,”

I focused on:

  1. Making relationships easier to manage

  2. Preserving trade context

  3. Reducing cognitive load across workflows

Key focus areas:

  1. Clear navigation

  2. Simple visual hierarchy

  3. Accessible interaction patterns

The goal was to make the product feel usable, not intimidating.

🎨 UI Direction

Trading apps often look Dense, Technical & Overload

I moved towards:

  1. Cleaner layouts

  2. Better spacing

  3. Clear typography

  4. Simplified color usage

Designed for readability and comfort over intensity.

🧩 Core Experience

🤝 Connecting with traders

  1. Users can discover and connect with relevant buyers/sellers

  2. Focus on high-intent conversations, not random networking

📅 Scheduling interactions

  1. Book time with other traders

  2. Structured way to discuss trades

  3. Save notes and other imp info form the calls

📊 Tracking trades

  1. Keep track of trades

  2. Monitor progress and decisions

⚡ Key UX decisions

  1. Simplified UI for better readability

  2. Reduced visual noise common in trading apps

  3. Designed for older users (clarity over density)

  4. Focused on interaction, not just data

🚀 Impact

The design was focused on:

  1. Making trading interactions more structured

  2. Reducing overwhelm for users

  3. Improving clarity in decision-making

Turning isolated trading into a more guided, connected experience.

🧩 Challenges

  1. Balancing data with simplicity

  2. Designing for less tech-savvy users

  3. Avoiding clutter in a data-heavy domain

  4. Handling multiple flows and edge casesy

🧠 Reflection

If I had more time, I’d extend this into:

  1. Test usability with real traders

  2. Improve onboarding for new users

  3. Explore deeper analytics + insights

In trading, information is everywhere.

Context is the real edge.
